Vossloh strengthens switch business by acquiring Poland’s KolTram
Vossloh AG is strengthening its Switch Systems unit by acquiring a 100-percent stake in Poland’s KolTram Sp. z o.o. Headquartered in Zawadzkie in the southwest of Poland, the company manufactures and markets rail switches and their components. Sales in 2008 came to some €20 million. The deal is subject to approval by the relevant authorities. The price amounted to €21.8 million.“We are bolstering our core rail infrastructure business in the strategically important market of eastern Europe with a healthy company that even now meets our financial criteria,” says Vossloh AG’s CEO Werner Andree.
