Vossloh acquires Polish market leader for rail fasteners

Today, Vossloh signed an agreement to acquire the Polish state-run Skamo enterprise, headquartered in Nowe Skalmierzyce. The company with a workforce of 300, is market leader for rail fasteners in Poland.

For Vossloh, this acquisition is another important step into Eastern Europe. Through the acquisition of Skamo, the Vossloh transport technology group now also secures for itself the biggest Eastern European single market for rail fasteners, which will be of major significance due to the expected infrastructural improvements within the framework of the EU enlargement.

The Cogifer Group, also recently acquired by Vossloh, already runs a track switch factory in Poland. By acquiring Skamo, the Vossloh Group now assumes a leading tracklaying role in this highly expanding market.
