Mitsui Rail Capital Europe orders seven diesel locomotives from Vossloh Locomotives, Kiel
Kiel-based Vossloh Locomotives GmbH, a member of the Vossloh Group and part of its Locomotives unit, has been awarded a contract for the supply of seven G1206 diesel locomotives. The customer is Mitsui Rail Capital Europe (MRCE), one of the continent’s leading lessors of railbound vehicles. Six of the locomotives are scheduled for delivery this year, another in 2008.The G1206 is a diesel-hydraulic locomotive for cargo haulage operations, both marshalling services and longer routes.
“We are delighted that MRCE in its resolute expansion strategy is pressing ahead with Vossloh as its supplier,” says Andreas Hopmann, Management Board member for Finance at Vossloh’s Kiel plant. “This contract means that we will fully achieve the shipments budgeted for 2007.”
