Mourning the loss of Dr. Hans Vossloh
Dr. Hans Vossloh, Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vossloh AG, died today age ninety. He was the last surviving grandson of founder Eduard Vossloh. After bearing operational responsibility for over 40 years, Dr. Hans Vossloh played a lead role in the transformation from a successful family enterprise to a stock corporation. In 1986 he moved from the management of Vossloh-Werke, Werdohl, to Supervisory Board Chairman and laid the groundwork for the Company’s IPO in 1990. Since 1994, Dr. Hans Vossloh has been Honorary Supervisory Board Chairman. Driven by his Christian faith, the deceased was actively engaged in the interests of the employees and his city far above and beyond the calls of routine business.“Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board was more than just a title for Dr. Hans Vossloh. For the members of the Supervisory and Executive Boards he was a highly esteemed colleague and advisor. We mourn the loss of someone who cared for the people of Vossloh and whose social commitment at the Werdohl headquarters was exemplary for us all,” says Werner Andree, Vossloh AG’s CEO.
On his 90th birthday on October 24, 2008, which he celebrated on the premises of Vossloh AG, Dr. Hans Vossloh was awarded the Honorary Citizenship of the city of Werdohl.
