A Monument for Casablanca

As Morocco’s key metropolis with a greater metropolitan area of 1,200 square kilometres, Casablanca is home to around 3.6 million people. And 60% of the country’s industrial work output is generated in Casablanca. After the capital Rabat, Casablanca is now the second Moroccan city to have started putting plans to create an urban and regional public transport network into practice. The first tram line was opened to the public in December 2012, with the switches all delivered by Vossloh. The highlight of the project was a monumental 98-metre track ladder with 17 branches. This to-date largest Vossloh-built track ladder was manufactured at the Alsatian Reichshoffen plant.
