Digital solutions for reliable rail networks

How can rail be made more reliable when networks are facing ever-increasing demand while the impacts of climate change are intensifying? At the international trade fair InnoTrans in Berlin, Vossloh will demonstrate from September 22 to 25 how conventional rail technology, digital data, and intelligent maintenance play together.

One example will make its debut at InnoTrans: the TrackStability software calculates critical temperature and speed limits for individual track sections. This makes it possible to better assess the risk of track buckling and adjust operations accordingly. During periods of extreme heat, such as this past summer, rails become very hot. The resulting compressive forces can cause the track to deform laterally, creating a safety risk.

“TrackStability demonstrates what digitalization can achieve for rail: we can identify risks earlier and more accurately and derive targeted measures from them,” says Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh AG. “This helps increase the safety and availability of infrastructure while avoiding unnecessary operational restrictions. In this way, we make existing networks smarter and more capable.”

At InnoTrans, Vossloh is presenting the rail track as an integrated system. Applications range from urban transit in major cities and conventional rail lines to high-speed connections and heavy-haul operations. Vossloh combines its digital solutions on its Vossloh connect platform.

At its booth, Vossloh also invites visitors to engage in a conversation with the company’s founder: an AI-powered avatar of Eduard Vossloh (1848–1899) will answer questions, bridging the company’s beginnings with the digital future of rail infrastructure.

Vossloh will be exhibiting at InnoTrans 2026 from September 22 to 25 in Hall 26, Booth 975.
