Vossloh, a global leader in rail infrastructure solutions, has signed a partnership with Athena Industrial Services to expand the reach of Athena Industrial’s innovative Advanced Rail Condition Detection (ARCD) technology worldwide.
The collaboration allows Vossloh to integrate the patented ARCD system, renowned for its autonomous detection of broken rails and train presence in areas without traditional signaling, into the Vossloh connect digital platform. With over 1,200 ARCD units already deployed and more than 100 broken rails detected, this technology offers a proven, data-driven approach to enhancing track safety and asset monitoring.
“The ARCD system is especially designed for areas that do not have signals or train control, so called Dark Territory,” said Eiro Issakidis-Brown, Head of Strategy at Athena Industrial. “With Vossloh connect, we can reach out further and give more railway operators access to this tool for enhanced rail safety.”

Vossloh connect is a digital platform offering a set of rail infrastructure solutions tailored for specific customer targets, from asset monitoring, to track measurement and asset management. The platform with its solutions developed by Vossloh and partners aims to enable predictive maintenance, thus minimizing operational expenses and extending the lifespan of rail assets.
