In desert areas, factors such as sand, high temperatures, and extreme sun exposure must be considered to ensure smooth operational efficiency.
With extensive experience as a network supplier in the most demanding environments, Vossloh has developed effective solutions to combat these challenges. Our innovative designs minimize the impact of sand buildup and employ components resistant to the effects of extreme temperatures and solar radiation.
Our commitment to safety and reliability is backed by rigorous testing. A wind tunnel test was performed to evaluate the performance of our maneuvering devices in sand-filled wind conditions. Conducted in a CSTB wind tunnel (ISO and COFRAC certified laboratory), this test adheres to stringent standards (DEF-STAN 0035, MIL-STD 810 F, GAM EG 13) to simulate the extreme conditions of a sandstorm.
During the test, 3 tons of sand particles (20 to 200 µm) were projected for four hours, ensuring that our maneuvering devices operated without any locking or detection failures, even under the most severe conditions.
