Connecting legacy devices to modern systemsProblem description
Many railway devices are legacy or non-networked, which makes it difficult to connect them to modern IIoT systems for monitoring and data transmission.

Smart gateway linking legacy railway equipment to digital monitoring networks
Many railway devices are legacy or non-networked, which makes it difficult to connect them to modern IIoT systems for monitoring and data transmission.
The Vossloh Open Gateway (VOG) is a railway-rugged gateway that connects legacy, non-networked railway devices to modern IIoT systems for monitoring data transmission. It converts serial and analog data from signaling systems into MQTT/Sparkplug communication protocols. A DIN-rail-mounted backbone provides power and data to all modules. Thanks to its plug-and-play modules for acquisition, communication and edge computing, and support for hot-swapping acquisition modules, VOG can be placed in a trackside cabinet to connect existing field equipment, including non-networked devices, to modern data platforms with minimal effort.
