Vossloh presents innovations at the iaf trade fair

This week, Vossloh is showcasing digital and sustainable solutions for rail infrastructure to an international audience in Münster. From May 20 to 22, 15,000 visitors from around the world are expected at the International Exhibition for Track Technology, iaf.

Under the motto “Shaping the Future of Rail Infrastructure,” Vossloh presents newly developed components and digital applications with a holistic approach. This includes the cloud-based platform “Vossloh connect,” which analyzes operational and condition data in real-time and provides recommendations for action aimed at maximizing the availability of the track.

The “smart HSG-city,” which will be demonstrated in Münster, is an intelligent unit for condition monitoring and rail processing for urban areas, enabling preventive rail maintenance without track closures. The milling machine “VTM-compact” is suitable for addressing medium and heavy rail defects and can be used on all track gauges. At the iaf, the machine will be showcased for narrow gauge tracks.

Vossloh will also present a tram switch, where all wear parts can be replaced. This simplifies maintenance and reduces the time required by half. Other exhibits at the iaf include the composite sleeper “Engineered Polymer Sleeper,” a sustainable alternative to wooden sleepers, the particularly sustainable fastening clamps of the “M-Generation,” and the “Engineered Polymer Pads” for improved stability and durability of the track structure.

As a live demonstration, Vossloh will present the “SoniQ Rail Explorer” for mobile ultrasonic testing in Münster. This technology allows, among others, for the first time the testing of switch heart pieces made of cast manganese steel while in track.

“Vossloh, with its uniquely broad portfolio and approximately 140 years of experience, possesses a comprehensive system understanding in the field of rail track,” says Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh. “Together with a wide range of corresponding services and the use of state-of-the-art digital technology, we are creating solutions for higher track availability and lower lifecycle costs.”
